We were so appreciative of the knowledge and information regarding the newly invented juice bike! Mike and Cynthia were great! We felt like family talking about the bikes history as well as performance and safety. A bike for our grandson we know will serve him well. A couple hours drive but well worth it.

My dad, mom and I got an E-bike and we sometimes ride it but I do when I have the time but it was the best purchase. Also not to be mean but if your a big person the battery goes down quickly I'm not trying to be rude but if someone feels offended I'm sorry

Mike is the absolute definition of a local business owner who cares not only about his customers, but the community he serves. My wife and I arrived as he was closing for the evening and he stayed about 45 minutes after to help get our problem resolved. Even installed some upgrades purchased on the spot! Simply the best customer service and professional support one could ask for.

Pedal Up is a great local place for e-bikes. My wife and I were shopping for e-bikes and Cynthia & Mike were super helpful. They went thru all the models and explained what was important to look for. After taking the time to go through everything they were expecting us to leave, but we felt this was the place to buy and we pulled the trigger and got two Lectric XP4 e-bikes and we love them. Their post sale service has been great as the manufacturer included options were delivered. I wouldn’t hesitate to visit Pedal Up!

We took our two boys, 2 and 6 on the bikes for a half day rental. It was an absolute blast!! The owners were so kind and friendly. We had a stroller and belongings with us, they kept them safe while we were out and even brought everything out for us as we pulled up. Will definitely be back and will share them with Everyone we know.

This is such an amazing place to rent an E bike from. Not only do they offer really top-notch bikes and have fabulous service, the places that you can bike from here are absolutely stunning. We rented some of the rad power E-bikes and had an amazing time biking up to Avila Beach. It was a really fun half-day experience.

My boyfriend, our son, and I rented two e-bikes today and we had an amazing time! Mike was so friendly and super helpful. We called him before coming in to inquire about wanting to ride with our 2 year old son, and by the time we showed up he already had the child seat installed! He was very informative about riding routes, has helmets available, and the shop had many different bike options. Great location in Pismo also!

We weren’t sure if we wanted to ride on the beach Since we never have before. Pedal up made it really easy! The owner was great set us up with everything we needed. Made me feel comfortable riding. We rode down to Oceana dunes and had a blast! Definitely would do this again, next time we ride to Avila! Don’t hesitate super inexpensive way to have fun for a few hours Well, worth it

What an incredible experience! My first time on an E-bike. Mike, one of the owners so so patient and kind with the instructions of operating (really was easy once I got the hang of it) but I was so uneasy at first. Cynthia was so friendly and welcoming. Gave good instructions too and encouraging 😄 Gave us detailed instructions on where to go tomake it easy and enjoyable to ride! Sure made our first experience with E-bike riding on our anniversary memorable!❣️We will be back!

Visited the shop and met with Mike about a problem I was having with my electric trike battery , which I did not buy or even have him service. He spent time helping me resolve the issue and all went well with getting the battery working. I’d have to say for him to spend time like that the products and service he does provides have to be 5 star and visiting his shop to buy or rent will be worth your time and money!

This bike shop has really good bikes. And the hospitality from the owners far exceeded the other bike shop on Price street. We went out to the beach and then rode all the way up to the dinosaur park.
The owners of the shop are very friendly and help with any questions you have.
In addition to rentals they sell some pretty sweet electric bikes.

Husband and I rented e-bikes on Wednesday for a couple of hours and had a blast. So much so, that we rented 4 more today and took our kids down through the amazing bike trail all the way to Avila Beach and back. The owners of Pedal Up are sweet as can be, provided bike locks so we could park and shop and relax. Hands down one of the absolute best times we’ve had in Pismo. Worth every penny! Best rental e-bike shop around! Owners Mike & Cynthia were awesome. They had plenty of bikes to choose from and were very knowledgeable on which bike would be best for what kind of experience you are looking to have. We were given the RAD bikes and went down to Oceano out on the sand, and then decided to take the 5 mile ride to Avila Beach. The bikes were in great shape and very comfortable. Mike took the time to show us the exact route to take and how the bikes operated. Pricing for both outings was very reasonable and comparable to the area. I would 100% recommend this shop, the owners very sweet and we had great conversations. Thank you Mike & Cynthia!

The owners of pedal up were so kind, helpful and professional. We rented e-bikes for the first time and Mike was so great in giving us an in-service and making sure we were comfortable, while Cynthia took care of our paperwork and helped me with a helmet. Their bikes were clean and well maintained. They also showed us a video of exactly where to ride on the beach and gave us great directions. We had a fabulous time on our ride and when we returned we got the same top notch treatment. I highly recommend them for rentals and my guess is you would have the same great attention buying a bike. This is the only place we will rent bikes when we return to Pismo. Five star experience overall!

I had the best time riding the electric trike on the beach with my dog! They get some getting used to because the steering is different from a regular 2-wheel bike but once you get the hang of it, it’s very fun! Mike was super helpful with explaining everything and gave me directions to where you can ride on the sand. I will suggest that you bring layers though as it can get a bit chilly. The cargo area was perfect for my dog carrier and it felt very safe. I had it for just an hour but I could’ve easily spent more time on it. If you have a dog, I highly recommend the trike! Great quality bikes and great service! Give them a visit the next time you’re in town!

This is a great place to rent electric bikes and go for a pedal along the beach. The owners were so helpful letting us try out a couple of bikes to make sure we had the right fit for our varying levels of experience with electric bikes. They even had a short video to show us exactly how to get through the streets to find the beach access. They went above and beyond customer service! When back in Pizmo Beach, we will definitely visit again!

First off came down to pismo with electric bikes noticed had flat tire came into the shop where we met with Mike the owner explained my situation he had the tube in stock . When he asked me do you have tools to change it “I did not “ I was going to buy some I told him he then told me that’s not necessary! Get it out of the truck and he will install it mind you he was already closing! Not many businesses that have this type of customer service these days this was a HUGE HELP! And to top it off all he charged me for was the tube! I would highly recommend his store to everyone for your bike needs! Genuine nice guy! Mike thank you again!!

The owners of this place were so sweet! Such a sweet and helpful couple in so many ways! Truly made our experience with the bikes memorable. Great prices! They take care of their bikes and clean them so well! The explaining of how the bikes work and different types have now made me want an e-bike! I will be using them still every time I am in Pismo!

Mike is the absolute best! My wife and I took a trip to Pismo and wanted to rent e-bikes for the first time. Pedal Up Bikes had the best reviews, so we went with them. We couldn't have picked a better place. It was a very simple process, and Mike took his time explaining how everything worked. Mike is very patient and understanding and hooked us up with bikes that met our needs. The bikes were in top shape, as was his store. We will go there again next time in Pismo. Thanks Mike!! We did the last minute Birthday trip and we had no clue what to do so we ended up running Across PEDAL UP and we had the most amazing time. And we also got THE most amazing recommendation for food this place will BLEW our minds. so I'm gonna give 2 shouts out. PEDAL UP 10 stars, BURGERS and MORE 10 stars. Just amazing.
If you ever are out in pismo, you have to try both of these places.The people here are Nice and it gives you that hometown feeling..

Mike was so helpful, welcoming, and thoughtful! He was very patient and walked us through how to use them. The bikes were in great condition and the route Mike recommended was excellent. We especially loved riding on the beach, so cool. My family and kids had a blast on these bikes and I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Pismo!

The owners are the sweetest people ever!! Mike at Pedal Up Bikes was simply awesome!! We came up from the LA area with our own e-bikes and needed a tire to be looked at that was possibly going flat. This is NOT the type of service he is in the business of doing…he rents bikes, not repair them. But he understood my situation and was gracious enough to help, we paid him a small fee for his time and rode off on our bikes to enjoy our vacation. I can tell you this, if you need an e-bike or similar rental in the Pismo Beach area look no further. You couldn’t have a more honest or helpful vendor than Pedal Up Bike Rentals!!

FYI - unrelated to the fantastic service but good to know is that on our day it was much colder and foggy at the beach where we rode. Adding to that being able to move quickly increased wind chill so layers and gloves could make all the difference.

This was the most absolute greatest time I’ve had in pismo there hours of operation are from 10 am to 6 pm prices to rent e bikes beach cruisers and more were very reasonable Mike and Cynthia the owners treat u like family they teach u how to operate bikes with confidence I would totally recommend this place then other bike rentals near they well give u pointers on where the best bike trails are they have a little map for options and they even have bikes accessible for beach riding so many options and if ur ever nervous don’t be I was and I ended up buying more hours it was that fun definitely don’t miss out this place when coming to pismo I rode atvs plenty of times and everything but this was so much funnier and affordable definitely don’t second guess it u don’t have to do any work the bike does it for u and so easy for adults kids and even elders !!

What are your rental rules?
Riders must be 18+ and provide a valid state-issued ID or driver’s license or a country passport to rent/operate e-bikes, e-trikes, and surreys.
Riders 16+ may rent with a signed waiver from a parent or legal guardian.
Riders aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal
guardian throughout the entire rental period.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
In California, you must wear an approved helmet while operating or riding an electric bicycle or surrey if you are under 18 years old.
Where am I allowed to ride?
You are allowed to ride in the bicycle-approved lanes and all places where bicycles are allowed by law.

You are NOT allowed on the sidewalks, boardwalk, Pismo Pier, or the beach area near the pier. The City of Pismo may cite you if you are seen in violation of bicycle rules.
If any issue with a rental occurs as a result of riding in the mentioned unauthorized areas, no refund or trade will be available.
Can I ride on the beach?
Yes – no extra charges! Riders are welcome to ride our fat-tire e-bikes on the beach starting from Grand Avenue and heading south toward the Oceano Dunes. However, riding across or through waterways is strictly prohibited.
What happens if I ride through water?
Bikes that have been ridden through water require extensive cleaning and maintenance. If a bike is returned with signs of water exposure, a $50 cleaning fee will be charged.
What if a rental breaks down?
We understand things happen beyond your control, and you could run into operational errors with your rental. In those cases, we will have you trade out for another surrey or bike. If none are available, we will refund you the amount of the rental.
Any issues that occur with your rental should be addressed as soon as possible so we can offer a quick solution. Call us immediately at 805.295.6235.
If an issue occurs but you fail to let us know until the rental returns, we will be unable to provide a refund or trade out.
